SA Weather | Motorists urged to exercise caution amid heavy downpours

The Ekurhuleni Disaster and Emergency Management Services say they are on high alert, following the Orange level 6 warning from the South African Weather Service, which could lead to localised and wide-spread flooding.

DEMS spokesperson Eric Maloka says they are monitoring flood-prone areas, like Trichard Bridge in the East Rand, which was already overflowing earlier today. He urged motorists to exercise extreme caution on the roads.

Media Liaison for the City of Ekurhuleni Disaster and Emergency Management Services Eric Maloka joins us now to talk about their preparedness and to give advice to those that are in areas that are prone to flooding.
